About the ask: The founders of Hoppy Planet Foods, Matthew Beck and Allie Brightwell, approached us in need of branding to launch their line of snack foods enhanced with cricket protein. These entrepreneurs were aiming to target families with young kids, but wanted to ensure their brand wasn’t so juvenile that it excluded adults. After all, everyone can enjoy the benefits of this increasingly popular protein.

About the execution: We created a word mark that has playful and subtle typographic cues—one that kids are drawn to and adults enjoy. Using the “H” in the word mark, we created a little, smiling cricket that shows up on the packaging to inform consumers of the product’s nutritional benefits.
